Description

The Forth and Clyde Canal Offices, located at 2 Speirs Wharf in Port Dundas, Glasgow, is a late Georgian office building dating from around 1800. It was restored in 1989-90 after a period of neglect. The building is two storeys high and features five bays, with a shallow advanced and pedimented three-bay centre. It has a central Roman Doric porch and corniced ground floor windows, along with giant panelled angle pilasters. The exterior is finished in droved ashlar with painted architraves, a cornice, and a blocking course. The flanks also consist of three bays, and the building includes end and apex stacks, topped with a piended slate roof.
