Description

Whiteinch and Jordanvale Parish Church, designed by P Macgregor Chalmers in 1911, is a Romanesque revival building featuring a nave, aisle, and chancel. The exterior is characterized by plain, slim buttresses and bull-nosed snecked rubble with ashlar dressings, along with a prominent plinth.

The church includes a single-storey projecting vestibule with a central round-arched entrance that has nook shafts and a plain infilled tympanum. Flanking the entrance are bipartite windows with colonette mullions set in arched recesses. The west side features narrow lancet windows and arched side windows. The aisles are full-height, independently roofed, and gabled, topped with a sanctus bellcote and simple paired round-arched windows.

The hall is a simply detailed, asymmetrical single-storey structure with a second gabled section to the south, which includes a large round-arched west window.

Inside, the church has droved ashlar walls and a round-arched arcade supported by columns with sculpted capitals. The apse features a blind arcade and three stained glass windows. There is a carved timber pulpit and lectern on a sculpted podium, along with a west gallery over the entrance and a timber trussed roof.
