Description

Stephen and Son Mano's, located at 144-146 High Street in Burntisland, is a late 19th-century, three-storey, three-bay tenement building that includes shops on the ground floor. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, with the ground floor painted. It features a cornice above and an eaves course, along with segmental-arched windows, cill brackets, and stone mullions.

On the north elevation facing High Street, there are basket-arched openings at the ground level. To the left of the center, there is a recessed shop door flanked by display windows, which feature curved and etched glass on the door jambs. To the outer right, there is a deep-set shop door with a display window to the left and ceramic tiled jambs. The tenement door to the left is timber panelled and topped with a cornice on scrolled consoles. All display windows sit above a panelled base course, and all doors are equipped with plate glass fanlights. The first and second floors each have a single window at the center flanked by bipartite windows.

The glazing throughout is plate glass, with timber sash and case windows on the first and second floors. The roof is covered with grey slates, featuring ashlar coped skews with moulded skewputts, coped ashlar stacks, and some chimney cans.

Inside, the shop to the left boasts elaborate curvilinear cornicing and a central ceiling rose.
