Duart House, 11 Burnside, Auchtermuchty

Duart House, located at 11 Burnside in Auchtermuchty, is an early 19th-century building that has undergone later alterations. It consists of an irregular pair of two-storey terraced houses, with one having two bays and the other three bays. The exterior is primarily constructed of whinstone rubble, featuring margined window and door openings with stop chamfers. The ground floor of No 11 has bipartite windows, and it also has rusticated sandstone quoins.

The west elevation of No 9 is near-symmetrical, with a door located on the ground floor to the left. There is a blocked opening on the far left, and it adjoins No 11 to the north. No 11 has a symmetrical design with a central door.

The south elevation of No 9 has a blank gable that is harled and painted white. The north elevation of No 11 adjoins a slightly lower property, No 13. The east elevation of No 9 features a large two-storey, two-bay harled extension with a piend roof. No 11 has a one-bay section with a single-storey, two-bay wing that includes a brick gable stack set at right angles, along with a further lower monopitch extension at right angles.

No 9 has modern aluminium windows and doors, while No 11 has predominantly modern windows and doors. The roofs are covered with grey slates, and there are large gable stacks on the north and south sides, along with a smaller ridge stack at the division of the properties.

Inside, No 11 has been modernised.
