Description
Nos. 8 to 10 Church Hill is a row of three dwellings that were originally one house, dating from the 16th century. The building features a timber frame with roughcast render on the front and plaster at the rear. The north gable end is made of painted brick, with weatherboards above the eaves. The roof is primarily pantiled, with some sections at the rear covered in plain tiles.
The structure is two storeys high, with a two-storey and attic extension at the rear. It has a six-window range: No. 8 has mid-20th century casements, while Nos. 9 and 10 mainly feature 19th-century three-light casements. Notably, No. 9 has a small three-light bay window on the ground floor with large pane windows. There is a mid-20th century porch and door for No. 8, while Nos. 9 and 10 have boarded doors, with the doorway for No. 10 located in the north gable end. The building includes one internal stack and one gable end stack on the north side, along with various extensions to the south and west. Inside No. 9, there are good ogee-moulded joists in the ceiling of the ground floor room.
