Royal British Legion, 68 And 70 High Street, Leven

The Royal British Legion, located at 68 and 70 High Street in Leven, is a club premises built in the later 19th century. This three-storey building with an attic features a polished ashlar façade and has three bays, with a shop occupying the ground floor.

On the southeast elevation facing High Street, the ground floor has a modern shop front. Above, the central bay is slightly advanced and features pilasters on each floor. The first floor has a corniced six-light transomed window, while the second floor has a tripartite window that leads to a three-light lunette, which breaks the eaves into a mansard roof. The flanking bays each contain a six-light transomed window on the first floor and a tripartite window on the second floor, with panelled outer pilasters and pedimented dormer windows set back behind a deep cornice.

The windows are timber sash and case, featuring four-pane and plate glass glazing patterns, with fixed display windows at ground level. The roof is covered with grey slates, and the building has ashlar-coped skews along with cast-iron downpipes that have decorative rainwater hoppers.
