Description

Later 19th century. 3-storey and attic, 3-bay club premises with shop at ground. Polished ashlar. Mutuled cornice incorporating lunette; blocking course. Stone transoms and mullions.

SE (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: modern shop to ground floor. Slightly advanced, pilastered centre bay to each floor above with corniced 6-light transomed window to 1st floor and tripartite window to 2nd floor giving way to 3-light lunette breaking eaves into mansard roof. Flanking bays each with 6-light transomed window to 1st floor and tripartite window to 2nd, panelled outer pilasters, and pedimented dormer windows set-back behind deep cornice.

4-pane and plate glass glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows; fixed display windows to ground. Grey slates. Ashlar-coped skews and cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater hoppers.
