Description

Henge, located on Beaufort Drive, is a circular sculpture designed by David Harding in 1970. It consists of 13 concrete slabs arranged in a spiral formation, with heights ranging from 2.0 meters to 2.75 meters. The inside faces of the henge feature various decorative relief mouldings, drawing inspiration from Pictish and Celtic symbols as well as 20th century figures such as Che Guevara, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Mother Theresa. The sculpture is made of cast concrete, with granite sets on the ground that also spiral inward to a circular plinth at the center.
