Description
Ex Terra is a large figurative sculpture created by Benno Shotz in 1965. The sculpture depicts a maternal figure emerging from the ground, supporting three children, with two of them triumphantly carried on her shoulders. It is made of manganese bronze over a metal frame, and the sculptor's signature is in relief at the base. Additionally, there are abstracted figures of three further children clinging to the base of the sculpture.
