Description

Balfour House, located at 1 Balfour Place in St Andrews, is an early 19th-century building designed by architect Robert Balfour for his own use. It is a three-storey structure featuring a two-window pedimented gable, constructed from coursed rubble and slate, with a snecked rubble gable facing The Shore. The interior includes some notable work and an interesting hot air duct heating system. However, the building has suffered from some poor later additions.
