Description
The Coffee House in Quay Close, Inveraray, was designed by Eustace Balfour around 1880. It is an L-plan building that is single storey with an attic. The structure is made of rubble, featuring a harled front and one rendered side, topped with gabled slate roofs and four gabled dormers. It has ashlar chimneys, and the north gable is curvilinear, adorned with a panel displaying the ducal coat-of-arms and motto, a string course, and a plaque commemorating Elizabeth, Duchess of Argyll. The south gable is plain but includes decorative skew-putts, and there is an ashlar bay window.
