Description
Gillies's House, located on Front Street East in Inveraray, was built in 1760 and is an example of Georgian architecture. The building has two storeys and a basement, featuring five windows across its façade. It is constructed from rubble with dressed face-work and has a gabled slate roof. The eaves are moulded, and the corners of the building are accentuated with quoins.
In front of the house, there are railings, and the entrance includes a rusticated doorway that is accessed by balustraded steps. The doorway is topped with a segmental fan-light. At the rear of the house, there is a semi-circular tower.
