Description
Durham Cottage and the former Royal Bank office date to the early 19th century and are built in a Gothick style with classical proportions. The main part is a single-storey structure with two window bays and a central door. It features four-centred arched windows with traceried sash windows and a tripartite doorpiece surmounted by a traceried fanlight. To the sides are two additional window bays with pedimented heads, with the easternmost bay altered for bank use. The building is constructed from whin rubble with freestone dressings and quoins, topped with a piended roof covered in pantiles and slate skirting.
