Description
Gardens Cottage in Dalgety Bay is an earlier to mid-19th century building that was originally constructed as a gardener's cottage for Donibristle House. This single-storey cottage features a central door and three bays, with broad eaves and a piend roof covered in slate. At the center of the roof, there is an apex stack with a pair of corniced octagonal flues. A full-height rear wing has been added, which is also piended and has an identical stack.
The cottage is built from squared rubble with ashlar dressings, and it includes chamfered reveals and painted cills that are supported by block corbels on the original house. There is a glazed porch on a stone base, which may date from the same period as the rear wing. The windows are small-paned sash windows.
