Description
Lambswell, located on the Raith Estate, is a folly dating from the early to earlier 19th century. It is a two-stage structure built of rubble, positioned next to the gable end of a derelict farmhouse. The folly features an ashlar dividing course and projecting rubble margins, with pointed-arch openings.
On the east elevation, the first stage has a large pointed-arch niche at ground level, while the second stage includes a pointed-arch window beneath a quatrefoil opening. To the left, there are three small square nesting boxes and 'open' crowsteps leading to the left pitch.
The adjoining farmhouse has small windows at each floor located in the center of the north elevation.
