Description
Fawsyde House features a folly built in the later 19th century. This structure is a single bay, three-stage folly designed in an Elizabethan style, with a near square plan and an octagonal tower at the corners. It is constructed from sandstone with polished dressings, and it includes stone mullions and transoms in its windows, along with a base course. The parapet is crenellated and corbelled out, and the tower has strip quoins.
On the southeast elevation, there is a panelled timber door at ground level, which has barred upper panels. Above, there is a single window on both the first and second floors, and a corner bartizan is located to the right. The taller octagonal angle tower to the left features irregularly spaced narrow stair lights. The windows are unglazed.
