Sundial, Comely Park House, 80 New Row, Dunfermline

The sundial at Comely Park House, located at 80 New Row in Dunfermline, dates back to 1786. It features a square dial panel that is mounted vertically on a low rectangular sandstone post made of coursed stone. The dial panel has a bolection-moulded architrave and displays a lattice pattern with Arabic numerals in the center. Roman numerals are inscribed around the border on either side and at the bottom to indicate the hours. The dial, likely made of lead, is positioned in the upper part of the panel. Above the dial, there is a scroll that contains the date and initials, including a weathered letter "D." The post is topped with later banded ashlar pyramid coping.
