Description
This is a milestone located on Cupar Road in Newport-On-Tay, created by Alexander Russell from Kirkcaldy in 1824. The milestone is made of cast iron, has a shouldered and slightly bowed shape, and is set into a stone wall. It stands approximately 3 feet high and 2 feet wide. The inscription is in flowing script and reads 'To Pettycur 32, New Inn 19, Cupar 10, Newport 1'. The milestone is painted white with raised black lettering and margins. It is positioned on the east side of the road, facing west.
