Description
West Balbairdie Farm Lodge is an early 19th century single-storey building with a raised basement, situated on sloping ground at the rear. This classical lodge features three bays with bowed ends. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar with finely tooled margins and a base course on the east, north, and south sides, resting on rubble foundations, while the west side is constructed of random rubble.
On the east elevation, there is a projecting pedimented bay at the center, which includes a recessed panel and a deep-set modern timber door, with windows in the flanking bays. The west elevation has a partial basement due to the slope of the ground, featuring a door and window in the left of center bay at the basement level, and a small window in the center of the principal floor.
Both the south and north elevations have a single window located at the center of the bowed elevation. The windows are modern top-opening timber with an 8-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates and features a coped ashlar ridge stack with a can.
