Description

Balmuto Bridge is a single segmentally-arched bridge, likely built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from squared rubble with ashlar dressings. The bridge features stepped voussoirs and a keystone below a rendered band course, with squared rubble spandrels and an additional band course leading to a parapet made of large ashlar blocks, a moulded cornice, and a shaped cope. There is later infill under the arch that serves as a dam shielding a more recent road.
