Wellsgreen Farm

Wellsgreen Farm is an 18th century farmhouse with a substantial addition from the mid 19th century. It is a two-storey, five-bay T-plan structure, with three bays on the right side from the 18th century and two bays on the left side from the mid 19th century. The exterior features painted ashlar and harl, stone cills, and raised margins, along with a base course. The entrance has a corniced door with a hoodmould and stone mullions.

On the southeast (principal) elevation, there is an advanced gabled bay to the left of centre, featuring panelled timber at the ground level and a hoodmoulded window above. To the outer left, there is a slightly broader gable with canted tripartite windows on both floors. The three recessed bays to the right include a window (which has been altered from a door) in the centre, flanked by windows, with regular fenestration on the first floor.

The northwest elevation has a centre bay with an advanced wing and irregular fenestration on the returns. There is a two-bay single-storey projection with an off-centre left window and a blank bay to the outer left that has a door and an adjacent window below a finialled gable on the return. The recessed bays to the right feature two windows on each floor, with the left side having two doors at ground level, a stair window to the right, and another window to the left on the first floor.

The northeast elevation has a gabled appearance with a window to the outer right at ground level. The southwest elevation also has a gabled design, featuring a full-height stepped chimney breast and a window to the left of centre on the first floor.

The principal elevation has timber sash and case windows with a 4-pane glazing pattern, while other elevations mainly have 4- and 12-pane glazing patterns. The chimney stacks are coped and harled with cans, and the skews are ashlar-coped.

Additionally, there is a rubble wellhead to the north, coped rubble boundary walls, and coped square-section ashlar gatepiers with hooped iron gates.
