Museum Lodge, Bennochy Road, Kirkcaldy

Museum Lodge, located on Bennochy Road in Kirkcaldy, dates from around 1925 and is likely designed by Heiton & Mackay. This crowstepped lodge house features stugged squared and snecked rubble with droved ashlar quoins and an eaves course. The west doorway has roll-moulded and stop-chamfered arrises.

On the southeast elevation, there is a corniced, canted tripartite window at the ground level, with a window in the gablehead above it, and a small window in a flat-roofed porch to the left. The west (entrance) elevation has a lower advanced gabled bay on the left with a window in the gablehead, a blank bay to the outer left, and a corniced flat-roofed bay with a panelled timber door in the re-entrant angle to the right.

The east elevation features two windows at ground level and a window in the center above, which breaks the eaves into a crowstepped dormer gablet. The north (entrance) elevation has a broad gable with a window in the center at ground level and in the gablehead, a timber door to the right with a small window above, and a blocked window to the left.

The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are cavetto-coped ashlar stacks with cans and ashlar-coped skews featuring moulded skewputts. The property is enclosed by low saddleback-coped boundary walls.
