Smugglers Inn Hotel, 14 Harbour Place, Burntisland

The Smugglers Inn Hotel, located at 14 Harbour Place in Burntisland, is a later 18th century building that was reconstructed and raised to three stories in 1882. This inn features a central gablet and a rounded stair tower at the rear. The exterior is harled with painted margins, a base course, and a moulded second-floor cill course that was formerly an eaves cornice, along with stone mullions.

On the west elevation, which is the entrance side, there is a door located in the bay to the right of the center, beneath a name board, with a window to the right and another window to the left. To the outer left, there is an additional door and a further window. The first floor has four windows, while the second floor features a bipartite window at the center below the gablet, with windows on both the outer right and left.

The windows are sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar gablehead stacks with cans, as well as a shouldered and harled stack at the gablet. The building also has ashlar coped skews and cast-iron downpipes with decorative hoppers that are dated '1882'.
