Description

The former squash court, built between 1922 and 1933, has been converted into a gymnasium. It features a gabled rectangular plan and is constructed from rendered and painted brick. The side elevations are supported by slim buttresses, and there is an eaves band with a simple stepped brick detail at both ends. The entrance is located on the south elevation, which has a door flanked by six-pane fixed light metal windows. Above the door is a tripartite casement metal window, and the roof is covered with grey slate.

Inside, the gymnasium has a boarded timber ceiling supported by metal roof trusses. There is a viewing platform to the south, which includes a simple timber balcony.
