Description
The Signal Box at Barham Road, Rosyth Dockyard, was built around 1917 by the North British Railway Company and is classified as a Type 7 signal box. It has a two-storey rectangular design and is constructed with timber weatherboarding. This signal box serves a private line at Rosyth Dockyard. The first floor signal cabin features multi-pane glazing and is accessed by a timber forestair that includes a projecting entrance porch on the west side. The roof is piended and covered with grey slate, with projecting eaves. A wide red brick chimneystack rises from the ground and breaks the eaves on the north side.
Inside, the signal box retains its signalling apparatus, including a Stevens and Sons patent frame.
