Description

Dated 1887; altered. 3-storey, 3-bay, classically-detailed small tenement with shops at ground, in irregular terrace. Ashlar with rusticated quoins. 1st floor cornice, 2nd floor cill course (bracketted) and eaves cornice. Architraved windows, those to 1st floor corniced. Stone mullions.

E ELEVATION: centre bay at ground with pilastered doorpiece with mutuled segmental fanlight, part-glazed panelled timber door and small fascia above; traditional flanking centre door shops each with deep-set in-canted door and fixed display windows. Shop to left with cast-iron column and decorative cast-iron detail. 1st floor with single window to centre and altered flanking windows, satellite dish to outer left; 2nd floor with single window to centre and flanking bipartites. Dated, shouldered wallhead stack to centre above.

Modern glazing. Grey slates. Banded, coped ashlar wallhead stack with cans and coped harled gablehead stack with cans.

INTERIOR: shop No 46-48 with decorative plasterwork cornices and frieze.
