Description
Castlehill Lodge, located on Humbie Road in Eaglesham, is a house built in 1866. It is a single-storey structure with a dormerless attic, designed in an L shape using rubble with large stugged ashlar dressings. The house features a gabled porch at the angle, which includes the date displayed in a lozenge panel, and a diagonally boarded door in a vertical pattern. The roof is slated with barge boards on the end corbels and has low plain corniced stacks. At the rear, there are kennels incorporated into the design. The building has four doors, three of which are located in the left-hand gable, and a window. There are also two tiled yards enclosed by low rubble walls and high railings, all topped with a slated roof featuring barge boards.
