Description
5 Duke Street is an early 20th-century, two-storey house located at the end of a group of three. It incorporates a skewputt dated 1788, which was likely reset from an earlier house on the site. The exterior is harled with ashlar cills and a door surround. The off-centre doorway features bolection moulding and a small-pane upper light above a panelled door. There is a narrow stair window in the western end bay and a three-light window on the ground floor to the east, both with splayed lintels. The first floor has narrow windows, and small-pane casements are used throughout. The roof is slated, with harled stacks, and the plain raised skews have rounded skewputts from the earlier house.
