Earlslea, 71 High Street, Earlsferry

Earlslea, located at 71 High Street in Earlsferry, is an early 19th century building that was remodeled, with rear skewputts dated 1867. It is set back from the street behind a pebbledashed wall. The building is two stories and has an attic, constructed of whitewashed rubble with ashlar dressings. The symmetrical south elevation features three windows, with the outer sections consisting of two-story, three-light canted bays that have segment heads sunk in the lintels and crenellated parapets. The central entrance has a plain architraved door with steps, a cornice, and a single-light window above it, which is margined and has central outband stones. The roof is gabled and slated, with original outer piended dormers and later central bipartite gablet dormers. The building has straight skews and corniced end stacks, along with a pebbledashed crowstepped gable on the left-hand wing. The rear elevation has three windows, including a tall central stair window.
