9 Direlton Avenue, North Berwick

7 Dirleton Avenue in North Berwick is a semi-detached pair of two-storey houses built in the late 19th century, featuring later additions. The exterior is made of squared, snecked sandstone with droved ashlar dressings, while the rear is constructed from rubble. The openings have chamfered arrises.

On the northeast elevations, each house has two bays with outer recessed gabled doorways. The door surrounds and small lights above have mitred angles, and the doors are panelled with tiled vestibules. The inner bays have single light windows, and the first floor features gabled dormer-heads that break the eaves. The outer bays are advanced and have canted bays set back above ground, topped with honeycomb slates on half-pitched roofs. All gables are adorned with elaborate barge boarding. The sash and case windows have plate glass and four-pane glazing. The gabled rear elevations include contemporary low extensions, and the roofs are finished with purple slates.
