Description
Rose Court is a mid to later 18th century, three-storey, five-bay house located slightly set back from the road. It has an L-shaped plan due to the addition of a slightly later wing at the rear and features single-storey additions to the west. The house is adjoined to the east by 25 Inveresk Village (also known as Rose Court). The exterior is finished in orange-painted harl with painted ashlar dressings and some chamfered reveals.
On the southeast elevation, there is a pilastered and corniced doorway at the center, featuring a deep-set panelled door with a decorative fanlight. The flanking bays have 19th-century canted ashlar windows, and the roof has a piend design with an eaves course. The first and second floors have regular fenestration, with narrower windows at the center. To the outer left, there is a curtain wall with a garage door inserted. Rose Court is adjoined to the east and advanced to the south.
The northeast elevation includes a gabled wing projecting to the right, with a circular, conically roofed stair block set in the re-entrant angle. There is a single-storey piend-roofed outbuilding attached to the garage on the west, which abuts the pavement and features two windows and a door.
The windows are sash and case style with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The house has ashlar coped skews, scrolled skewputts, and end stacks, along with decorative wrought-iron eaves brackets.
In addition, there are harled retaining walls by the roadside with ashlar coping, simple railings, and a gate, along with rubble garden walls.
