Description
The former Butchery Department of the M & F Co-Operative Society, located at 10 North High Street in Musselburgh, was built in 1910 and is a two-storey shop. The building features polished granite stall risers and four banded pilaster-piers that support a slightly recessed shop fascia with a cornice above. The central shop door is also slightly recessed. The upper floor is constructed of red ashlar and includes a central pedimented inscription panel, flanked by triple windows with architraves. The window heads are linked together by a Greek key frieze beneath the cornice. The building has a slated roof with crow stepped gables and corbelled skewputts, as well as red ridge tiles.
