Description
Spotts Granary is an early 18th century storehouse located on the quay west of the harbour entrance in Dunbar. The building measures 3 storeys and is 70 feet by 42 feet.
The southeast front features five bays with altered openings, and there is a loading platform on the southwest side, which is accessed by a flight of steps. The front has two doors centrally located, with a loft door situated in a swept dormer above.
The northwest front consists of four wide bays and is supported by four sandstone corbels at the wall-head. The northeast front has a sloped corner, and the exterior is made of sandstone rubble that has been harled. The roof is piended and covered with corrugated iron, although it was formerly tiled with pantiles.
Inside, there is a central partition wall running from northeast to southwest that is 2 feet 8 inches thick and includes openings.
