Description
East Mains Farmhouse is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay farmhouse with a slightly later single bay addition. The building is constructed of rubble with harl pointing. On the south elevation, the three bays are grouped towards the centre, featuring a gabled porch addition in the middle and regular windows in the remaining bays. There is a recessed bay with slightly lower eaves on the outer right, which has a window on each floor. The rear elevation includes a stair window at the centre of the original house, two ground floor windows, and one at the first floor. To the right, there is an additional bay with a doorway and a flanking window, a small dairy window on the outer left, and one window at the first floor. The east elevation has irregularly placed windows on each floor. The sash and case windows feature a four-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with purple slates, and the building has ashlar coped skews and brick end stacks.
