84-86 High Street, North Berwick

84-86 High Street in North Berwick is a two-storey building dating from 1911, designed by Henry and MacLennan. It is located on a corner site and features a shop on the ground floor. The street-facing side has an ashlar finish that is channelled at the ground level, with a cornice above the ground floor and a dentil eaves cornice along with moulded window margins. The west side and rear are constructed from squared, snecked rubble with raised ashlar margins.

The south elevation features a tripartite shop front on the ground floor that retains its original design. To the right, there is a flanking doorway with a shouldered surround that includes a date panel and a decorative fanlight above a recessed panelled door. On the first floor, there is a corner window bay to the left with three lights and a chamfered angle, topped with an urn finial on the projecting ground floor angle and a polygonal roof with a finial above. To the right, there is a single first-floor light.

The west elevation has irregular openings, including a bipartite window at ground level and one blocked light. The sash and case windows have plate glass glazing, and the building is topped with a green slate roof featuring moulded coping on the ashlar stacks.
