Description

Early 17th century walled garden to east side of house,

surrounded by high sandstone rubble wall with ridged coping. Semi-octagonal garden house projects on outer side of east

wall, with finialled gable to garden, architraved doorway

with sculptured cartouche containing rectangular inscription panel set in colonnettes with sculptured capitals. Renaissance gateways in east and north walls, architraved and corniced. That on east wall has Jacobean pediment bearing an obelisk and the ages of Seton, 57, on the inside and his wife, 21, on the outer face.

An obelisk sundial stands on the north wall on a corniced

pedestal block with moulded base.
