Description
The Walled Garden at Saltoun Hall dates from the earlier 19th century and features a rectangular plan. It includes lean-to toolsheds located at the center of the north wall. The garden is enclosed by brick walls constructed in Flemish bond, using red stretchers and dark headers, with ashlar coping and dressings. The northeast and northwest corners have splayed spurs to the north, which are rounded at the outer ends. There are outbuildings against the north side, equipped with heating ducts that connect to hot-houses on the south side. Additionally, there is a further wall made of rubble sandstone, which has ashlar dressings and coping, forming an irregular U-shape that roughly encircles the brick garden to the north, east, and south.
