Description
The cemetery on Barrhill Road in Cumnock was established in 1756 and includes a small burial enclosure that contains the grave of Rev Alexander Peden, a notable figure from 1626 to 1686. The site features a quadrilateral enclosure made of old rubble walls and contains several interesting monuments. Among these is a gothic obelisk created by R Ingram in 1891, dedicated to Prophet Peden.
