Steeple Church, City Churches, Nethergate, Dundee

The Steeple Church, located in Nethergate, Dundee, was built between 1787 and 1788 under the supervision of Baillie A Thoms. This rectangular-plan church is designed in a simple Gothic style and is situated between St Mary's Tower and the pend through Old St Paul's and St David's Church. It features an ashlar exterior and a slate roof, with later cathedral-pane glazing.

On the southeast elevation, the church has no buttresses and consists of four bays with large Y-traceried pointed-arch windows. There is a continuous cill course and a band of blind quatrefoils beneath the corbelled eaves, along with angle pinnacles at the west gables.

The northeast elevation has five bays with similar detailing, including a central pointed-arch door located beneath a Y-traceried window.

Inside, the church has a simple rectangular layout that has been refurnished with 19th century pews and 20th century furnishings, including a pulpit. The rear gallery front features blind Gothick arcading with tassellated detail, and the original columns have been removed.
