St Roque's Library, Blackscroft, Dundee

St Roque's Library in Blackscroft, Dundee, is a small, symmetrical single-storey building made of ashlar, designed by James Thomson and possibly draughted by William Careless in 1910. It is situated in a triangular formal garden on a gusset site. The library features three bays on its north and west frontages, with channelled angle pilasters and a central baroque arch that contains a broken pedimented aedicular Ionic doorpiece, along with an inscription above it on the west side, and an architraved doorpiece on the north side. There are architraved cross windows on either side, which are fitted with leaded glass. The building has an entablature, a dentil cornice, and a balustrade with a stepped swagged panelled centrepiece, although the balustrade is missing from the west elevation.

On the southeast elevation, there are three similar windows, a blind basement, and the balustrade is also missing. The east elevation is a blank wall made of rubble. The garden features a balustraded terrace, with wrought-iron railings and overthrow gates positioned between stone piers, including a hollow chamfered pier at the gusset. The interior has been altered due to its conversion into a nightclub and the effects of a fire.
