391-393 Brook Street, Broughty Ferry, Dundee

These are two adjacent, single-storey cottages dating from around 1800, located at 391 and 393 Brook Street, Broughty Ferry, Dundee. They are rectangular in plan, with three bays for number 391 and two bays for number 393. The cottages are primarily harled, although number 393 is constructed of rubble with long and short dressings. They feature margined doors and windows, and have slate roofs with thackstanes.

The south-facing elevation of the cottages is set back behind a low wall with railings. Number 391 has a front door flanked by widely spaced two-pane sash and case windows. There are 43 small rooflights, and ridge stacks are located on the left and right sides. A skew gable is present on the left, featuring skewputts. Number 393 adjoins on the right and includes a further front door with a five-pane fanlight, along with a window of unsympathetic material and design, with partially painted margins. Two rooflights are present.

The west gable, facing St Vincent Street, has a twelve-pane sash and case window on the ground floor to the left, and a smaller window at attic level to the right.
