Morar, 387 Perth Road, Dundee

Morar, located at 387 Perth Road in Dundee, is a 2-storey Arts and Crafts villa built around 1905, possibly by the architects Thoms and Wilkie. The exterior is harled with plain ashlar dressings around some of the ground floor windows.

On the south elevation, there is a central ground floor bay that is slightly recessed, featuring a segmental arched porch with an inset arched triple light, and a stepped 3-light window to the left. Above, there is a 4-light timber oriel window, and to the right, a 5-light bow window extends through both floors. A flat projecting gable sits above. To the left, there is a 3-light angle turret topped with an ogee copper roof and a stone ball finial.

The side and rear elevations include a single storey and attic. There is a 2-storey porch with an open timber framework at the ground level and a bipartite design above and on each side. The rear of the villa is U-shaped, featuring a canted window in the west gable, along with single lights and a door in the same gable, and a modern porch to the east.

The villa has red tiled roofs that are piended with overhanging eaves on the south side and gabled, sweeping to the first floor level at the rear. The harled chimney stacks are topped with ashlar coping. The windows are leaded glass casements, with some lower cases being single pane. Additionally, there is a rubble-built wall along Perth Road.
