Description

Inniscarra is a 2-storey and attic villa built in 1905 by William Williamson in the Cape Dutch style, with later additions to the rear by T M Cappon, also following Williamson's design. The exterior is harled, featuring ashlar cills and skews.

The south elevation is symmetrical with three bays. It has a central three-storey tower topped with a shaped gable, which is corbelled out above the eaves. There is a timber oriel in the attic, a first-floor basket-arched French window with a fanlight, and an ornate cast-iron balcony dated 1905. The ground floor, which was formerly trellissed, has flanking three-light bow windows with shaped parapets and ball finials, and triple lights above with swept eaves.

On the north elevation, there are twin curvilinear gables. The right canted bay rises through two storeys and features a shaped parapet with ball finials. To the left, there is an oriel above a round-headed door and window. The east elevation is similar but has three bays, with the right gable advanced and an altered ground floor window. Cappon extended the wing to the north, which includes square-headed windows and a gablet.

The north elevation shows the east wing advanced with a curvilinear gable and ball finials, along with a bowed entrance bay featuring a depressed arch door and a triple light above.

The roof is piended and gabled, covered with red tiles and has overhanging eaves. The building features harled stacks, small-paned casement windows, and leaded glass oriels. The interior has been altered.

The property is enclosed by red brick boundary walls and includes a square timber gazebo with a pyramidal red tiled roof.
