Description
This is a single-storey lodge, built in 1882 to a design by Kinnear & Peddie, forming an L-shaped plan. It is constructed from squared and snecked rubble stone with red ashlar dressings and chamfered reveals. The west elevation features an advanced gable on the left side, with a canted ground floor window and a bipartite (two-part) window in the attic. A lower wing extends to the right and incorporates a roof swept over the door in the re-entrant angle, along with a verandah supported by wooden columns and a balustrade. An off-centre gabled opening leads to the verandah. The south gable features a bipartite window. Simple barge boards are present, along with two tall, coped chimney stacks and a graded slate roof. The property is set within a walled garden and includes panelled square ashlar gatepiers with ball finials on raised caps, carved low ashlar-coped quadrant walls, and decorative wrought-iron gates and railings.
