Description
The Cample Viaduct is a railway structure built in 1850 on the Closeburn-New Cumnock line, designed by engineer John Millar. It features a skewed design, spanning over the Cample water and a public road. The viaduct consists of four segmental arches made of red ashlar stone, which is mostly stugged. Notable architectural details include channelled voussoirs, soffits, and bull-faced piers. The structure has courses below the parapet, slightly battered abutments, and outer pilaster strips.
