Description
The farmhouse wing dates from the earlier 19th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is an H-plan farmhouse, comprising a 3-bay main block with single-bay wings projecting to each side. The farmhouse is constructed of whitewashed rubble with painted margins. The south elevation features a square central porch between ground-floor bipartites and end stacks. Each wing has a round-headed window opening in a shallow panel. The left wing is two storeys high with a 2-bay west elevation. The windows are mostly sash windows with a horizontal glazing pattern, though the ground-floor west-facing windows have been enlarged. The roof is covered in graded slates. A swept-roofed outshot links the wings via low bays onto the courtyard elevation. NMRS plans and elevations indicate that the wings originally featured square-headed ground-floor windows without panels.
