Description
Smittons Bridge, built around 1830, is located over the Water of Ken near Smeatons Farm, marking the borders of the Dalry and Carsphairn parishes. This bridge features a single depressed arch with splayed abutments and has a span of 42 feet. The structure is constructed with dressed granite voussoirs and springers, while the soffits are made of rendered rubble. The spandrels, abutments, parapets, and terminal piers are also made of rubble, and the parapet and piers are topped with dressed granite coping.
