Description
49 Main Street in Auchencairn is an early 19th century pair of two-storey, two-bay houses, with a basement. The buildings feature painted rubble walling and squared quoins. There are steps leading to paired central doorways, which have recessed doors with fanlights, although the doors themselves are modern. The roofs are covered with slate, and there are skews and corniced wallhead stacks. The gable of No 51 has four single windows with modern glazing, while the gable of No 49 includes two doors leading to the basement. Additionally, there is a drystone wall fronting the road at No 51.
