Description
Drumstinchall is a two-storey and attic house dated 1832, featuring a symmetrical rectangular design with 19th and 20th-century additions to the right. The exterior is constructed of coursed granite with polished red sandstone used for the flat angles and window margins. The original 1832 structure has three bays and a central pilastered doorpiece, which includes a 1920s vestibule door with leaded diamond-pane glazing and panelling, along with a panelled door. There are single-storey canted bay windows on either side of the door, while the first-floor windows are single-light, sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The attic features windows with unusual curved jambs and 2-pane sash windows. A band course runs above the ground and first floors, topped with a moulded cornice and blocking course. The roofs are piended slate with corniced end stacks.
The rear elevation is made of whinstone rubble, and the upper attic courses appear to be a later addition. Inside, there are some notable panelled doors and chimneypieces, including a dining room with a buffet recess and a drawing room featuring a Gothic chimneypiece. A curved stair leads to the rear, complete with cast-iron balusters and a timber handrail.
