Description
Old Leswalt Graveyard features gravestones from the 18th and 19th centuries. Within the graveyard is a burial enclosure, built around 1800, for the Agnew family of Lochnaw. This enclosure is located to the north and interrupts the graveyard wall. It is constructed of limewashed rubble with ashlar dressings, including coping, quoin strips, and margins. The wallhead has flat coping, and the west elevation has a pediment that is flattened at the apex, with a blind oculus in the ashlar tympanum. There is a ball finial on a concave stalk to the left, which is missing on the right side. The central doorway features an iron gate, flanked by margined panels that bear inscriptions. The boundary wall surrounding the graveyard is made of rubble.
