Description
Liddel Viaduct is a railway viaduct built in 1864, which is now disused. It features nine unusually sharply-skewed depressed arches that carry a single track over Liddel Water. The structure is made of bull-nosed red ashlar and includes narrow cutwaters, bands at the imposts, and channelled voussoirs, with the channelling continuing diagonally along the soffits. The brick parapets have concrete coping slabs and iron handrails, which are not original to the structure.
